Harris Corporation has signed a long term agreement with TAE for the manufacture and supply of advanced liquid cooled electronics enclosures for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF). Mr Andrew Sanderson, General Manager of TAE commented: “This agreement has the potential to be worth in excess of $15 million and is the first of many expected to be signed by TAE for the F-35 programme. The key to the deal was TAE's Aluminium Vacuum Brazing technology.”
TAE, a leading Australian aerospace engineering services company, has worked closely with Harris Corporation and the Australian Government to demonstrate its capabilities as a competitive supplier to the F-35 programme. Mr Sanderson said: “This agreement recognises these efforts and shows that not only is TAE able to deliver on quality, but also on price.”
Headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland, TAE is the first Australian company to have successfully developed the Aluminium Vacuum Brazing technology and one of only a small number world-wide to have the capability. Since developing the capability, TAE has had a 100% success rate with production which has attracted the attention of a number of major Global Supply Chain manufacturers for both the F-35 and commercial passenger aircraft as well as from customers in the maritime and land vehicle arenas. Recent discussions with these manufacturers paved the way for TAE to increase its AVB production capability to better meet these manufacturers' growing global needs.
One of the attractions to manufacturers is the one-stop-shop capability that TAE offers, with its associated processes (chromate conversion, painting, heat treatment), CNC machining and flow and pressure testing to complement the AVB process. TAE is also able to provide design and prototyping support to customers wishing to develop new products using this sort of technology.
TAE welcomes discussions and requests for further information on the company and its capabilities. For enquiries on TAE or contact details visit www.tae.com.au.
